I am using it to grow plant in my cubical at work since the 8 foot high wall block a good amount of the sun coming in through the windows at the other end of the room.
The bulb gives off some heat in the lamp around the bulb but the plant and cabinet surface they are on does not feel even warm so that is good. Even the papers next to the light do not fell at all warm so that would lead me to believe that this bulb is not a fire hazard.
For comparison of size I have included a picture of another bulb I am trying out which is smaller and only has 28 LED's.
