I took some picture to like they did on their website to show the distance that these light can be seen. Both the headlight and tail light can be seem from at least 500 away in their high or constant state. The taillight which runs off of 2 CR2032 button batteries lasts up to 50 hours. The headlight is rechargeable and will last anywhere from 2-40 depending on what mode it is used with. The recharging is done by an included USB cable which allows you to charge it in the same way you would change any of your other devices.

I need to mention that this headlight has a charging indicator that I have not seem on other lights. If I press the button for 3 second and then release it will flash the light for every 10% of batter life remaining. For instance mine just flashed 8 times so it still has 80% battery life which means that I used it for about 24 minutes since I have only used it on high. Reading though the manual online it warns that:
“It is strongly recommended to recharge Night Owl 200 when there is less than 20% load (see: check the battery charge level). Do not wait until the light goes completely out as this will greatly reduce the number of charge cycles that the battery can be used and can render the battery unusable. Charge your bike light each 2-3 months when stored or not in use to prevent battery degradation.”
This is important to note because I am used to running a light almost dead and then putting in new batteries. Since this is rechargeable I don’t have the option of carrying batteries for replacement.
One of the other features that I really like is the rubber bands to are used to strap the light onto the bike. They have incidental sections to that it fits multiple sizes of handle bars or seat posts. I the web site days that the headlight can also be mounted on a helmet with additional hardware not provide in the original package. What makes this set up really nice for me is it is a breeze to move the lights from one bike to another or to remove them while be bike is parked in a public area.
Overall the dimensions are small and they are light weight but don’t be fooled. This set is very bright and much better than others that I have had. Cycle Torch has done a great job at providing a great products at a very affordable prices. Not to mention that the 365-days returns completely free warranty registration page on their website literally has only 6 fields to fill in to cover the product.
