I am in a smaller office with 3 big windows to let in the sunlight but my cubicle walls are 8 feet high so plants don't get the light they need. This bulb plugged into a $5 desk lamp from the DI allow me to now have pants in my office.
Originally i had the light pretty close to my first plant but I then realized that the heat that come off of this bulb would be too much so I adjusted my lamp to much higher. This bulb comes with a built in heat sink so that helps to dissipate the heat. The bulb feels hot but the lamp cases doesn't.
I do want to mention that you need to be carefully when unscrewing the bulb from the lap. If you are not you will end up opening the bulb and leaving the screw part in the lamp like I did. It is a simple fix of screwing it back together but once you have disconnected the power and taken the rest of the bulb out of the socket.
I also have a second grow light that is much bigger and has 200 LED's on it that I am trying out. For comparison of size I have included a picture of that as well.
