This harness allows parents to help their children start to walk without having to constantly be bent over to hold their child hands. It also can be used for helping a child stay sitting on a chair while feeding if you don’t have a high chair or booster seat. It also can be used as leash once your child is walking to give them the freedom of movement but but still keep control of them close by.
Mu little one is in the very early stages of walking. Right now she pulls herself up to stand at the couch, chairs and table. In preparation of her walking I decided to get this so we are ready when she decided to be more adventurous. Currently she is too small for the harness since the blue chest wrap does not tighten around her enough. In PYRUS defense they do list with chest sizes from 45 cm to 72 cm so I can’t fault them for that. It still will work well once she grows into it and it functions as it should while using it on a chair.
The handle used for the adult to help hold the child while they learn to walk it great. It is very sturdy and easy to grip. The length of the straps going down to the harness or adjustable and long enough for my liking and comfort. When it comes to using this on a chair I am not sure how to get it tight enough that they can’t wiggle around using the long strap with a handle to wrap it around the chair since at its smallest size it is still too long and just using the small straps parts on the harness they do not go wide enough to go around the chair back. The only way I can figure out (since it does not come with directions) is if there ar slats in the back of the chair for the small straps to go though.
The harness that wraps around the child is well padded and seems like it would be comfortable to wear do to the breathable material on the inside and the thick padding. The shoulder straps seem to help give it good support as well for walking and as part of a leash and keep it from twisting around while being worn.
If this product is looking to improve I would make the following changes.
1. Have instructions for the different types of setups it is intended for. The pictures online are great printing something would be even better since the online pictures only show walking setups.
2. Put clips on the either side of the handle so that it can be removed and the longer straps can be used independently for the leash while walking around and will give better options of length to wrap around a chair.
Overall I like this product and it works for my main needs which is for teaching to walk and using as a leash.
