This product is something that I really looked forward to using. not only does it slice quickly and easily but it make the presentation really nice as well once you get the hang of it. At first I was not pushing against the rind ans I carved down so a bunch of the fruit was still left over. On my second try with the other half It worked a lot better.
One thing I want to point out is that it is not called a knife. It has no sharp edges. All my kids (ages 6-10) wanted to use it and I have no problem letting them. Infact they are the ones that cleaned out the rinds so well. The tongs on the slicer are very nice to pull the pieces out. The only thing was that I felt like I needed to slice with a regular knife down the length so that each piece was a quarter size.
The packaging that it came in along with the shipping box were great. I also loved the simple directions that the slicer came with as well including step 4 "Compost the watermelon rind."
I have already told coworkers and family about this and they are interested in giving it a try. I definitely cut down on the amount of work and the uniformity and presentation of the fruit. The two hardest parts was waiting for this to arrive in the mail and slicing the watermelon in half.
Note: I received this product for free or at a significant discount in exchange for my honest, unbiased review. This review is entirely based on my honest assessment and opinion after using the product and not influenced in any way by receiving a discount. All opinions are my own.
