This multi-use product is
great!
I got this pack because I was
looking for a way to charge my phone from a battery backup. This is not the
main feature of the product but is what first god me interested in looking at
it. The more I looked at it the more I became interested and realized the many
possibilities that it would provide.
Check out the difference the
high powered lights make when shooting in low or no light situations. If makes
a huge difference that cannot be beat by the lights on the phones itself. This
is the main purpose of the pack, to be a high powered light for both Android
and iPhone. This light can be used as a handheld illuminator or as an attached
video and photo light with your phone. Pairing the FirePak with the Surefire
phone case allows both to clip together as one unit. The high powered LEDs are
controlled by the slider switch on the side of the unit and allows you to light
your pictures as videos with light between 100 and 1,500 lumens. (100, 300, 600
and 1,500). If you use the bluetooth app you can get an even more precious
amount of light and not be held to these four settings. The light on the
highest setting is enough to blind you so don’t point it directly at others up
close.
Another great feature is the
fact that is is a phone charge or
battery backup. The side has a rubber cover that when opened reveals two ports.
One is a micro USB and the other is a normal USB. This allows for the unit
itself to be charge from eith port and use the other to charge another device.
You know that the unit is charging by looking at the indicator on the front
below and to the right of the LEDs. IF it is green you are charging or have a
good charge on FirePak. If it is red it needs to be charged. The slider switch
used to select the light output uses the first setting to illuminate the
indicator light. The power can also be monitored from the bluetooth app as
well.
And last but certainly not least that FirePak is made of a high impact polymer which makes it very durable for many years of use in all kinds of situations. It can be used when walking in dark spaces for personal security like blinding someone temporarily or as a flashing signal to get other people's attention. Since it lights up to 50 feet away i am sure it is seen much much further than that. I also intend on using it for emergency preparedness either as a light or as my battery backup for other devices.
